RHS Rosemoor

Multi-purpose event space

About a mile south of Great Torrington lies RHS Rosemoor. Home to 2,000 rose plants, an arboretum, herb, fruit and vegetable gardens and an alpine house. And as of Spring 2017, a versatile events space.

RHS Rosemoor required a new permanent venue to accommodate a variety of events including weddings, conferences, flower shows and theatre productions. This building would replace a temporary marquee and would sit on an elevated terrace, overlooking the gardens.

Whilst the design needed to fit in with the surroundings, it was also important that it accentuated them. The backdrop of the Winter Garden provides a truly unique setting for this new multi-purpose event space ‘The Garden Room’. A blend of contemporary and vernacular rural materials provide a modern design that nestles into the existing garden landscape.

The new venue, with a capacity of 420 people, is the perfect setting for corporate events and occasions. Flexibility is provided as the main space can be split into two with a series of bi-fold doors creating an indoor/outdoor flow onto the drinks terrace.
