OCR Architecture was pleased to continue our relationship with Mace providing technical advisory services for one of the South West's most prestigious regeneration schemes. The mixed use scheme on the river in Taunton will provide a catalyst for the wider Garden City Initiative by the local authority and is due for completion in 2021.
As Technical advisor (TA), OCR Architecture supported Somerset West and Taunton Council in the assessment of the design team's technical submissions, continuing the work from Lavigne Lonsdale.
The design from AHR and Lavigne Lonsdale integrates a mix of residential, retail, workspace, restaurants and gyms, around a considered public realm to create a destination for the community.
The incorporation of a riverfront plaza with a informal amphitheatre engages the River Tone as a place to enjoy and experience.
