Woodland housing scheme in Parkham, North Devon

Redevelopment of redundant hotel site into 28 unit housing scheme

OCR Architecture are pleased to be working with a private equity firm in developing a bespoke housing scheme in North Devon.

The site was a hotel which had unfortunately ceased to become viable and as such the site was assessed for alternative uses with an outline application being previously agreed for the change of use to residential.

The focus of the scheme was to produce a small number of well-crafted homes that settled in the woodland setting and ensured that the landscape weaved through the proposed layout to connect the site back to the wider North Devon countryside.

The mixed-tenure scheme includes 28 properties with a beautiful rural outlook, ranging from 1-5 bedroomed homes reflecting a contemporary style that is suited to the local area.

The site also includes the retention of some of the original hotel buildings converted to residential use.
