OCR Architecture was pleased to continue our involvement with a private developer in Cornwall. This time looking at bringing an edge of village site into use as a landscape-led housing scheme for self build housing in the village of Sticker in Cornwall.
The scheme focus is around 10 units providing plots for the proven need of local families in the village.
By providing a strong landscape edge and a shared communal wildlife area located around an attenuation pond we have looked to create a sense of place and a community focal point in the scheme. The site looks to connect this space as part of a wider bio diversity net gain on the plot.
The developers who are from the local area are keen to be able to provide the opportunity for families to build their homes following conversations with the local community were a number of young couples expressed interest to do so.
