Exciting new mixed-use development for the Duchy of Cornwall

We were delighted at the end of 2023 to announce our appointment with the Duchy of Cornwall on ‘Nansledan;’ an ambitious, award-winning 540-acre extension to Cornwall’s surfing capital, Newquay.

Inspired by the vision of by HM King Charles III, the principles of community-focused urban planning will continue to be championed at Nansledan by the 25th Duke of Cornwall, HRH Prince William.

Development continues apace on the site, which at the end of its anticipated 30-year plan, will provide 4,000 homes and aims to meet the business, educational and health needs of Newquay in a sustainable way.
OCR Architecture will be working on the exciting mixed-use, commercial development in the ‘Hendra’ quarter at Nansledan. It forms part of the Duchy’s continuing investment into opportunities for regional commerce and will eventually form another gateway to the development.
Our appointment on this project enables us to work with a brilliant, progressive team in building a significant commercial development for the south-west that will be led with a sustainability agenda.
Nansledan successfully captures the spirit of Newquay’s urban fabric and we will continue to draw on the local vernacular whilst utilising emerging technology and construction methods to ensure we deliver this project successfully and sustainably.
