OCR Architecture have undertaken an initial feasibility assessment of a site in Cornwall for potential re use as a holiday park focused around water activities. This unique site in Cornwall offers the chance to develop a tourism offering focused around a deep in land lake offering the opportunity for both traditional water sports (canoeing, sailing and fishing) as well as a safe deep dive centre.
The concept looks at a mix of lodge types to respond to the landscape and water setting, with some floating lodges also being included.
The site is in a sensitive location so the first step was to look at the landscape both of the site and the wider area and to see how we could introduce a mix of native planting to enhance the bio diversity of the site and also provide screening to areas of the site. From this point a network of footpaths and trails were developed and overlaid on the site then finally the location for the lodges were established.
